Garrison Brothers Releases Second 6-Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon

Every barrel behind the new Garrison Brothers Bottled in Bond was filled on a single day, October 2, 2020, which is exactly what the bottled-in-bond rules are built around. Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas, has announced the second release of its Bottled in Bond, a 6-year-old, 100-proof bourbon made from Texas grains. The first 1,000 bottles go on sale at the distillery on Saturday, November 14, 2026, with a wider release of 19,500 bottles to follow. It is a US release, and the brand's bourbon is sold nationwide.
Did You Know?
The bourbon comes from 102 fifty-three-gallon barrels, all filled on October 2, 2020, during the distillery's fall distilling season.
The bottled-in-bond label follows a U.S. law from 1897, one of the oldest consumer protection rules for American whiskey.
The distillery gates open to the public at 8 a.m. on release day, three hours before the ticketed fundraiser event begins at 11 a.m.
The Release
This is the second Bottled in Bond from Garrison Brothers, following the first release in February 2026. The new bottling comes from barrels distilled in October 2020 and aged six years in the Texas Hill Country. Master Distiller Donnis Todd selected 102 barrels for the run and called it "a taste of the future" for fans of the brand.
If you are new to the term, bottled in bond means the whiskey was made in one distilling season, by one distiller, at one distillery. It then has to age in a government-bonded warehouse and be bottled at exactly 100 proof (50% ABV). The 1897 law behind it was designed to protect drinkers from adulterated whiskey and to give them a clear standard for quality.
Garrison Brothers says the bourbon is made from Texas-grown grain with a sweet mash, meaning fresh yeast and grain without any leftover mash from a prior batch, and fermented in open air. It is proofed down with Hill Country rainwater. According to the distillery, the bourbon shows toasted brown sugar, cinnamon and white pepper, with leather and vanilla on the finish and nods to Thanksgiving baking spices such as nutmeg and anise.
Release day is also a fundraiser. The first 1,000 bottles will be sold at the distillery during the annual Red, White & Bourbon event, which benefits The National Museum of the Pacific War. Bottles are first come, first served all day. Anything left over moves to the distillery gift shop starting Monday, November 16, 2026. The remainder of the 19,500 total bottles reaches e-commerce, select retailers, restaurants and bars by the end of November 2026.

The Story of Garrison Brothers
Garrison Brothers is the first and oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas, and it makes only bourbon. Dan and Nancy Garrison founded it in 2006 in Hye, in the Texas Hill Country. The distillery describes itself as the first outside Kentucky to produce corn-to-cork bourbon, meaning it handles everything from grain to bottle on site. The bourbon first reached the market in 2010.
The recipe leans on local ingredients. The grain is grown in Texas, the whiskey ages under the Hill Country sun, rainwater is used to proof it, and bottling is done by hand at the ranch. Texas heat speeds up the interaction between whiskey and oak, so the distillery's bourbon tends to pick up flavor faster than it would in a cooler climate. That helps explain why six years is a meaningful age for a Texas bourbon.
According to background on the brand, its flagship Cowboy Bourbon is a barrel-proof release of a few thousand bottles each year, and the distillery has collected more than 800 awards and welcomes over 50,000 visitors annually. Today its bourbon is sold nationwide and in five countries.
Why It Stands Out
Bottled in bond is a short list of rules that gives collectors a lot of information at a glance: one season, one distillery, at least four years in a bonded warehouse, 100 proof. Seeing that framework applied to a Texas bourbon with a six-year age statement is a good snapshot of how far the category has spread beyond Kentucky. At $89.99, it is priced as a premium craft bottle, and the distillery-first release gives locals and visitors an early shot at it.

Tonights Poison Take
A second Bottled in Bond from Garrison Brothers shows the distillery is building a repeatable series, not a one-off. The age, proof and single-day fill give drinkers a clear picture of what is in the bottle, and the Hill Country maturation adds the Texas flavor. If you are in Texas, release day pairs a bottle hunt with a good cause. Everyone else should keep an eye on retailers and the distillery's online store near the end of November.
