Green Spot Chateau Montelena Cabernet Wine Cask Whiskey

Special edition of the Green Spot, in partnership with the coveted winery Chateau Montelena! The whiskey is aged in ex-bourbon, sherry casks and then finished for a year in Chateau Montelena zinfandel wine casks. 🥃

The winery was originally established in 1882 but closed during Prohibition. It re-opened in 1972 when James Barrett and winemaker Mike Grgich made the first modern era Chateau Montelena wines. It gained worldwide recognition after the renowned 1976 '𝘑𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴' wine tasting, when 1973 Stag’s Leap S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon and the 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay placed first in blind tastings.⁣. This one event changed the wine world forever and put California wines on the map.
