The company that has quietly made a huge share of American whiskey is about to get a new name, and its stock ticker will be CASK. MGP Ingredients, the Kansas-based spirits and ingredients group, will rebrand as Sempreon on November 2, 2026, bringing its three businesses under one corporate identity. If you drink Rebel, Ezra Brooks or Penelope Bourbon, you are drinking the portfolio of this company.

Did You Know?

  • The name Sempreon combines "semper," Latin for "always," with "Aion," Greek for "eternity."

  • The company's new Nasdaq ticker will be CASK, a fitting symbol for a whiskey-focused business.

  • MGP Chapter One: Out of the Shadows, a 10-year-old, 111-proof straight bourbon, is the first consumer bottle released under the MGP name itself.

The Release

This is a corporate rebrand, not a new bottle. Sempreon will officially launch on November 2, 2026, alongside the company's move to the new Nasdaq ticker CASK. The name unites Branded Spirits, Distilling Solutions and Ingredient Solutions under one banner.

According to the company, the name reflects 85 years of evolution and honors the legacies of MGP Ingredients, Luxco and the many businesses, brands and teams that joined along the way. The classical roots are deliberate. "Semper" stands for the enduring foundation of the company, while "Aion" points to its forward-looking vision and a legacy meant to last.

Julie Francis, president and CEO of MGP Ingredients, said, "This name brings all three of our businesses under one identity." Matias Bentel, the chief marketing officer, said the company will carry its history forward through the names of its distilleries, including MGP and Lux Row.

The rebrand also comes with a new mission statement: "Creating moments that matter. Building a legacy that lasts."

The Story of Sempreon

Sempreon is the next chapter of a company that began in 1941 as a single distillery and now spans spirits, contract distilling and food ingredients.

Its distilling capabilities grew significantly after the 2011 acquisition of the historic distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. That facility, now known as MGP Distillery, adds major distillation capacity and expertise and remains a cornerstone of the company's American whiskey operations. Two more deals reshaped the business: the 2021 acquisition of Luxco and the 2023 acquisition of Penelope Bourbon.

The company now runs three segments:

  • Branded Spirits: Penelope Bourbon, Yellowstone Bourbon, Rebel Bourbon, Remus Bourbon, Ezra Brooks Bourbon, Blood Oath Bourbon, Lux Row Bourbon, Juarez Tequila, El Mayor Tequila, Exotico Tequila and Everclear, across several price tiers.

  • Distilling Solutions: the distilling side of the business, built on its distillery capabilities.

  • Ingredient Solutions: specialty ingredients such as wheat proteins, starches, dietary fibers and texturized proteins for food manufacturers.

Why It Stands Out

Many drinkers know the brands but not the company behind them. As the corporate name moves away from "Ingredients," it better reflects a business that is now heavily about spirits. Keeping the MGP and Lux Row names on the distilleries suggests the whiskey heritage stays front and center, and MGP Chapter One shows the company is willing to put its own name on a bottle.

Tonights Poison Take

Nothing changes on the shelf, and the bourbon you already love is not changing with it. What changes is the name on the corporate door. For collectors, the useful takeaway is how many familiar labels trace back to one parent, and how much of American whiskey flows through its distilleries.

Bar Talk: The company behind Rebel, Ezra Brooks and Penelope is becoming Sempreon, and its stock ticker will be CASK.

Send this to the bourbon fan who loves checking the back label to see who really made the whiskey.

Please enjoy responsibly.
