Jacob's Pardon Launches Its First Bourbon, a Four-Grain Blend

Jacob's Pardon, the American whiskey brand built around a documented Prohibition-era family story, has launched its first bourbon. It is a four-grain, multi-distillery blend, and unlike the brand's limited Heritage Collection releases, it is available nationally.
The bourbon was developed by the Taub family with whiskey expert F. Paul Pacult, and it marks the brand's move from collector-focused bottlings to a broader audience.
The Release
Jacob's Pardon Bourbon blends whiskey from three states: Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. According to the brand, the team evaluated many blend combinations until each component worked together, and the final result is a 90-proof bourbon.
Pacult built the blend around four grains. Corn is the foundation. Rye, wheat and malted barley add spice, softness and extra depth, according to the brand. The idea is a profile that is layered but still cohesive.
Pacult framed the approach as patient work. In the news release, he said blending "isn't about creating novelty." He also said the four-grain approach lets the team build complexity while keeping the profile balanced, concentrated and consistent.
Marc D. Taub, president and CEO of Palm Bay International and founder of Jacob's Pardon, called the bourbon an important step for the brand. He said it carries the quality commitment of the Heritage Collection into a bourbon aimed at everyday bourbon drinkers.
The Story of Jacob's Pardon
The name comes from the Taub family's history in the American alcohol business. Brothers Jacob and Abner Taub made and bootlegged their own whiskey during Prohibition to support their family. In 1929, they were arrested for violating the Volstead Act. In 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt pardoned them.
The family says that history set off a tradition that has lasted for generations, and Jacob's Pardon is the current expression of it.
The brand's Heritage Collection of American whiskies debuted in 2019 with Small Batch #1. Those releases introduced Jacob's Pardon to collectors and whiskey enthusiasts, and they put the Prohibition backstory in front of the public. The new bourbon extends the brand beyond limited bottlings while keeping its focus on whiskey selection and provenance.
Why It Stands Out
Multi-state blended bourbon is a familiar approach, but it is a notable one for a brand that has built its reputation on limited, story-driven releases. Putting a named blender and a four-grain recipe behind a nationally available bottle gives Jacob's Pardon a clear identity as it reaches a wider shelf. At 90 proof and $59.99, it sits in the premium tier rather than the everyday one.

This is a smart step for a brand that has so far lived in the limited-release world. The Prohibition story gives it a hook, and a named blender gives it credibility on the shelf. At $59.99 it will face stiff competition, so the proof will be in the glass. We will be watching how the multi-state blend and the four-grain approach hold up against other premium bourbons in that range.
Please enjoy responsibly.
